Zavala is a village and small harbour on the southern coast of the island of Hvar, 13 km south of Jelsa, situated on the south side of the island Hvar. Zavala is famous because of its untouched nature and beautiful gravel beaches.
It is a very interesting destination due to its numerous beaches. It is also a starting point for the nearby island of Scedro... An ideal destination for those who want to get away from the flurry of the city and truly relax. On the slopes above the settlement famous vineyards are situated, from which one of the best white wines of Hvar are produced white wine (bogdanjuša). Below the village, a string of beautiful beaches lapped by a crystal clear sea. The most attractive is at Petrašcica (with a cave). In Zavala you can find a couple of restaurants and a small local shop, and in neighboring Jelsa you can find everything that you need for a great holiday.
